Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties As an employee of the facility Level of Care Registry, a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) may be requested to work on any shift, any day of the week and on any residence at the Developmental Center. Under the direction of supervisory staff, he/she provides direct care, treatment and developmental services for the individuals where assigned. The services provided fall within the scope of the job as specified by the California State Personnel Board. This position is not eligible for telework, this position is in person only. Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement. Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance; must be able to participate in individual containments, intervention or restraint. Must have the ability to work extended hours and various shifts; must float to all work areas within the facility if called upon to do so. 12 Month Limited Term, Intermittent•1500 Hours Department Information The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports individuals with developmental disabilities. These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and support available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
