About Beechwood At Beechwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, we provide our residents with a full range of skilled nursing and rehabilitative services. We treat and support their needs in a safe, compassionate environment that fosters independence and dignity. We are currently looking to fill our dietary aide position with an individual who works to ensure residents maintain a healthy diet. The primary responsibilities include documenting patient care, advocating for patients, and educating them and their families.
Position Overview:
The Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing resident care on the assigned unit and providing direct nursing services in accordance with each resident's care plan. Working under the supervision of the Registered Nurse Supervisor, the Charge Nurse ensures the delivery of safe, holistic, and high-quality care to our residents while supervising CNAs and support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care Record and update residents' medical histories, assessments, and care plans. Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to facility protocol. Monitor residents for changes in condition, response to treatment, and medication side effects. Perform clinical procedures such as wound care, injections, enemas, dressing changes, and IV care where applicable. Track and document vital signs, fluid intake/output, and overall clinical status. Collect specimens for laboratory testing and ensure proper documentation. Leadership & Oversight Provide direction and oversight to CNAs and support staff on the unit. Ensure all assigned staff follow established policies, safety guidelines, and infection control standards. Participate in shift reports and assist with care coordination among interdisciplinary teams. Communication & Support Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare providers regarding care progress and concerns. Offer emotional support, comfort, and education to residents and their families. Maintain professional, respectful relationships with team members and residents.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Licensure:
Current and valid Connecticut RN or LPN license in good standing.
Experience:
1 years of experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric setting preferred. Prior charge nurse experience is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in EHR systems; PCC (PointClickCare) experience preferred but not required.
Core Competencies:
Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail. Compassionate, patient-focused care approach. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
