Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated LPN-PCT Instructor to lead and inspire students in the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Patient Care Technician (PCT) programs. This role involves delivering engaging classroom instruction, supervising clinical practice, and developing curriculum that bridges theoretical knowledge with real-world patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching, extensive clinical experience, and a commitment to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals. You will play a vital role in preparing students for successful careers by providing expert guidance, ensuring compliance with educational standards, and integrating innovative learning technologies. Duties Deliver comprehensive classroom instruction on medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, nursing fundamentals, and specialized topics such as pediatrics, critical care, public health, and veterinary terminology. Supervise and evaluate students during clinical rotations in hospital, acute care, veterinary clinics, and laboratory settings to ensure safe and effective patient care practices. Develop and update curriculum using learning management systems (LMS) such as Blackboard or similar platforms; incorporate interactive learning tools and multimedia resources to enhance student engagement. Review documentation related to clinical research, clinical trials, and patient records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Facilitate adult education sessions focusing on laboratory experience, working with students of diverse backgrounds, and integrating veterinary or animal physiology concepts where applicable. Provide mentorship and supervision to students working in simulated environments or real-world healthcare settings; support their professional growth through constructive feedback. Collaborate with faculty to ensure course content aligns with current healthcare practices, research developments, and accreditation requirements. Experience Proven teaching experience in higher education settings or vocational training programs related to nursing or allied health fields. Extensive clinical background in nursing, critical care, pediatrics, or veterinary medicine—preferably with hospital or veterinary critical care experience. Supervising experience in clinical or educational environments that involve overseeing student performance and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Familiarity with learning management systems such as Blackboard or LMS platforms; experience developing online curricula is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and documentation review processes relevant to healthcare education. Experience working with diverse student populations in adult education settings; strong communication skills for effective classroom engagement. Background in research activities such as clinical research or public health initiatives is a plus; familiarity with laboratory procedures enhances instructional delivery.
