Job Description
Ward & Ward Mental Health Services, Inc. has a full-time, Monday through Friday, day shift LPN opportunity focused on supporting persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) at our residential facilities in Washington, DC. This is a key role within our Nursing Department - managing the medical documentation for our supported persons. The LPN will provide all necessary healthcare and/or administrative services while working with our team of Registered Nurses (RNs) and medication administration LPNs. Duties include but are not limited to: Review and follow-up on medical consultations and physician orders to ensure appropriate and timely action Schedule medical appointments Review lab results Review care plans and Health Passports Perform medical chart reviews/audits Review and process various reports. Assess persons and administer medications, as needed. May participate in meetings regarding the care of our persons and department operations (i.e. Individual Support Plan meetings, Interdisciplinary team meetings, Nursing and management team meetings, etc.). Qualifications for the Licensed Practical Nurse include: Current District of Columbia LPN license. Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in nursing home or group home settings is strongly preferred. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form to internal and external agencies, vendors/clients, staff and management, and maintain professional relationships. Ability to apply best practice, critical thinking skills, and common sense understanding to execute directives and instructions furnished in written, oral or technical form. Must be patient, compassionate, able to demonstrate tactfulness, and have a positive and cheerful disposition. Computer proficiency (i.e. MS Office). Immediate hire! Apply today!
