Now Hiring:
Wound Care Nurse (LPN/RN) We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wound Care Nurse (LPN or RN) to join our team at our skilled nursing facility. This role is vital in ensuring quality care and promoting healing for our residents.
Job Summary:
The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring residents with acute and chronic wounds including surgical openings, ulcers, bedsores, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. The wound care nurse will access the wounds, create and implement treatment plans, monitor infection and clean wounds. This role works closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to promote healing, prevent complications, and ensure the highest quality of care. The idea candidate is knowledgeable in wound care protocols, skilled in documentation and committed to improving resident outcomes in a long-term care setting. This position offers a Monday thru Friday schedule , providing consistency and work-life balance.

7:30 am-4:00 pm
FLSA:
Non-Exempt Responsibilities:
Assess, monitor, and document resident wounds (pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, skin tears, etc.) Perform and oversee wound treatments and dressing changes Collaborate with physicians, DON, and interdisciplinary care team Develop and update individualized care plans Ensure compliance with state and federal long-term care regulations Educate staff, residents, and families on wound prevention and care Monitor infection control practices related to wound care Maintain facility wound tracking report Other Responsibilities Oversee durable medical equipment related to the prevention and management of wounds Support central supply serving as the clinical expert for skin, wound and incontinent products On-call rotation
Wound Nurse Qualifications:
Valid LPN/RN license in the state of Florida Valid
CPR/ BLS
certification Wound Care Certification (Preferred) Knowledge of nursing principles and practice Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of the team Attention to detail and ability to multi-task Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
