Licensed Practical Nurse

This is a Licensed Practical Nurse position who performs practical and technical nursing as a member of the health care team at residential substance abuse treatment program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Utilizes Federal/State laws and regulations in the use of medications, narcotics and dangerous drugs. Orients newly admitted clients regarding the medical aspects of detoxification. Performs screenings, medical histories and nursing assessments on clients. Monitors vital signs on clients to determine state of intoxication and/or withdrawal. Coordinates admission process and refers clients to proper treatment facilities for further evaluation, when necessary. Assists physicians/practitioners with physical examinations and emergencies. Administers medication as per physician and practitioner orders. Participates in client care meetings and rounds. Documents all provision of services and maintains accurate client records. Reports significant findings to Medical Director and/or supervisor.

Qualifications:

Current and valid LPN license in the state of Florida Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in geriatrics, preferably in an adult day care setting Ability to assess and prioritize patient needs, and respond to emergencies in a calm and efficient manner Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient in using electronic health records and other healthcare software
