Swap the humidity for a fully funded travel nursing opportunity in the beautiful, scenic Northwoods of Wisconsin. This position includes round-trip travel assistance, private air-conditioned housing, and zero living expenses for two full months. The Organization Step into a highly regarded, historic lakeside youth academy that welcomes 200 young men (ages 8-16) every summer for high-energy sports, outdoor adventures, and waterfront activities. The campus features a modern, multidisciplinary Health Center led by certified Nurse Practitioners. The Travel & Lifestyle Package Weekly Compensation:
$1,000 - $1,500 per week, paid weekly (commensurate with registration type and clinical experience).
Full Travel Reimbursement:
Round-trip transit expenses from Florida to Wisconsin are fully covered and arranged by the employer.

Primary Focus & Responsibilities This role functions similarly to a specialized school health office within an active residential campus. While managing general pediatric triage, a primary objective for this nurse will be serving as the dedicated clinical anchor for campers navigating insulin-dependent diabetes.
Targeted Diabetes Care:
Supervise daily blood sugar tracking, calculate precise carbohydrate-to-insulin ratios, and manage continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) or automated insulin pump systems.
Acute Care & Triage:
Diagnose, treat, and track everyday childhood ailments, minor injuries, and illness outbreaks across the camp population.
Active Emergency Response:
Administer swift first aid and secondary triage for sports-related or waterfront incidents.
Medication Logistics:
Maintain flawless digital and physical records while organizing and distributing routine daily prescriptions.
Excursion Preparation:
Assemble dedicated emergency medical packs (including fast-acting glucose, glucagon, and field prescriptions) for off-site wilderness trips.
Stakeholder Communication:
Provide clear, comforting health updates to camp leadership, clinical peers, and distant parents. Prerequisites Active, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) holding Wisconsin licensure or a valid multi-state Compact License. A minimum of one year of professional clinical experience heavily involving pediatric care, school nursing, or youth diabetes management. Current, verifiable CPR, AED, and First Aid credentials. Complete availability to live on-site in Wisconsin for the full contract window (June 7 - August 6, 2026). Strong competency in independent clinical assessments and blood-sugar stabilization in an active outdoor environment. Preferred Attributes Direct familiarity with advanced diabetes tech (Dexcom, Omnipod, Tandem systems) or a CDCES background. Experience managing athletic injuries, heat exhaustion, or water-safety incidents. An outgoing, patient-centric personality who genuinely enjoys mentoring and supporting young people.
