Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implements nursing care in accordance with program procedures established by the Medical Director. Administers medications, treatments and procedures according to standard nursing practices and applicable agency policies. Observes residential clients self-administer their medications. Carries out a plan of care and medication orders from MD's, PA's and ARNP's. Educates clients regarding potential side effects of medications and observes for side effects. Monitors clients for withdrawal symptoms. Obtains vital signs, conducts breathalyzers, conducts blood glucose level, TB testing, pregnancy testing and urine drug screen testing. Provides crisis management (often involving intoxicated clients). Communicates and collaborates with physicians, ARNP's, P.A's, nurses and pharmacists. Ensures that changes in client status, abnormal lab values or other concerns are communicated to the MD, PA, and/or ARNP. Completes other tasks within the scope of licensed nurses and the program services and procedures. Oversees all aspects of the detox patient admission process, including: pre-screening of new patients for appropriateness for admission into detoxification and residential services. Obtains physical assessment data and health history upon admission. Performs inventory on controlled substances and reports abnormalities to the Director of Nursing. Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, including transcribing and administering routine and prescribed medications in accordance with procedures established by the Medical Director. Records client observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policy and procedure. Maintains electronic health record and participates in auditing charts. Facilitates health promotion and recovery classes for clients in residential and detoxification. And other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Must work effectively in an atmosphere of dignity and respect for clients and co-workers. Participate in internal training programs. Participate in Quality Improvement Program. Other duties as assigned.
Work Remotely No Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
