Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Nurse to join our dedicated team in a residential mental health setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in nursing practice with a specific interest or background in mental health care. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a critical role in supporting residents with complex mental health needs by delivering holistic, person-centered care in a safe, therapeutic environment. You will ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, uphold residents' dignity, and contribute to their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive mental and physical health assessments to develop and implement individualized care plans. Administer medications and psychiatric treatments in accordance with clinical protocols and physician directives. Monitor residents' mental health status, identify changes in behavior or condition, and adjust care plans accordingly. Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and direct support staff to ensure coordinated care. Support residents in developing life skills and coping strategies through education and encouragement. Maintain accurate and timely documentation aligned with HIPAA and ICD-10 standards. Respond to mental health crises and participate in de-escalation efforts, using trauma-informed approaches. Advocate for residents' rights, preferences, and needs, with a strong emphasis on dignity, respect, and recovery. Participate in staff training, safety drills, and quality improvement initiatives within the facility.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing. Prior experience in mental health, behavioral health, or residential care settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with supporting individuals with or co-occurring disorders is beneficial. Working knowledge of medical documentation, ICD-10 coding, and safety protocols. Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Why Join Us?
