Gulfside Living Healthcare Services, LLC is currently in the licensing phase and actively building our team in anticipation of our launch. All positions are contingent upon agency licensure approval by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). Position Summary Gulfside Living Healthcare Services, LLC is seeking dedicated and compassionate Private Duty Nurses (RN and LPN) to provide skilled, continuous nursing care to medically complex patients in their home environments across our Region 8 service counties. Private Duty Nurses are responsible for delivering individualized, high-quality nursing services to pediatric and adult patients requiring ongoing clinical oversight, including those with complex medical conditions requiring ventilator support, tracheostomy care, and enteral nutrition management. Key Responsibilities Provide continuous or shift-based skilled nursing care to assigned patients in the home setting according to the individualized plan of care. Conduct thorough nursing assessments; monitor and document vital signs, neurological status, respiratory function, and overall patient condition. Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders and within Florida Nurse Practice Act scope of practice. Manage and provide skilled care for complex medical equipment including ventilators, tracheostomies, gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes/J-tubes), central venous catheters, and ostomies. Develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and physician. Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition; initiate emergency protocols and contact physician and/or emergency services as warranted. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, medications, procedures, equipment operation, and emergency response. Maintain accurate, timely nursing notes and documentation in compliance with agency policy and Florida AHCA requirements. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, DME providers, and agency staff to ensure continuity and quality of care. Adhere to all infection control, universal precaution, and safety protocols. Participate in care conferences, training sessions, and agency quality improvement activities. Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & Licensure Active, unrestricted Florida RN or LPN license in good standing with the Florida Board of Nursing. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Experience Minimum one (1) to two (2) years of nursing experience; private duty, home health, NICU, PICU, or critical care experience preferred. Experience with medically complex patients including ventilator-dependent patients, tracheostomy care, and enteral feeding strongly preferred. Pediatric nursing experience a plus. Certifications & Other Requirements Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required; PALS preferred for pediatric cases. Valid Florida driver's license and reliable personal transportation required. Florida Level 2 Background Screening (AHCA) required prior to start. Active professional liability/malpractice insurance required. Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to function independently in a home environment. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Core Competencies Advanced clinical assessment skills across diverse patient populations. Proficiency in tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and complex wound care. Strong knowledge of pharmacology and medication administration. Patient and family education and engagement. Ability to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure. Commitment to patient dignity, safety, and person-centered care. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, turn, and reposition patients; lift up to 50 lbs with assistance; stand and walk for extended periods; and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
