Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working part-time every other weekend! In this vital role, you will deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care across diverse settings, including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes by providing skilled nursing services during weekend shifts, ensuring continuity of care and supporting our mission to promote health and well-being. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage IV infusions, catheterizations, and tube feedings with precision and aseptic technique. Document all patient interactions thoroughly using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards. Assist with complex procedures including wound suturing, spinal taps, and respiratory support such as ventilator management. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in emergency medicine, critical care, hospice, or primary care settings to coordinate patient treatment plans and discharge planning. Requirements Valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of employment. Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, long-term care, Assisted Living, emergency room, or outpatient clinics. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and physiology to support accurate assessments and documentation. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; familiarity with Alzheimer's care and memory support is highly desirable. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for efficient patient record management. Ability to perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, medication administration via injections or venipuncture with sterile technique. Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and patient education; physical stamina to stand and move throughout shifts. Join us in delivering exceptional nursing care during weekends!
