Licensed Practical Nurse - PRN Dayshift and Nightshift Flexiblility

Licensed Practical Nurse Position Summary:

PRN nurse with flexibility for dayshift (0645 to 1900) and nightshift (1845- 0700) The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will work in collaboration with the ARNP, Nursing Supervisor, and Medical Director in order to ensure the safest and most comfortable experience for all clients of Spring Gardens Recovery 12 hours shift Must be able to work independently; One nurse, per shift is on duty at a time. Preferred experience in Detox/Mental Health Setting. Will be making phone calls, receiving phone calls, performing admission for new pts., medication administration, CIWA and COWS evaluations, charting, running groups, discharge planning and completing chart reviews. Job Description Required Skills:

Previous experience in mental health and substance abuse IV certification preferred If IV certified, must be comfortable with starting Saline IV Bags and assisting ARNP with IV Banana Bag administration. Experience in Phlebotomy required Excellent written and verbal communications skills Strong leadership skills and strong multi-tasking skills

Qualifications:

Graduate from an LPN accredited nursing school Licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the State of Florida CPR/BLS Certifications Experience working in a fast-paced nursing environment and collaborating with interdepartmental staff Client and customer focus Communication, Attention to Detail EMR knowledge Strong understanding of HIPAA and DCF Considerable knowledge/experience in nursing philosophy, policy, practices and procedures.

Essential Duties:

Provide direct patient care to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction Will be making phone calls, receiving phone calls, running designated nursing groups, discharge planning and completing chart reviews. Must have essential skills such as communication and critical thinking Able to obtain medical history for admission process Comfortable communicating with Physicians, ARNP, LPNs, ADON and Pharmacists Assist physicians in developing treatment plans Ability to place PPD and obtain blood work Obtain vital signs and Complete detox assessments (CIWA, COWS) every 4 hours to monitor patient for s/s of withdrawal Document full assessment (completed on each shift or every 12 hours) with a nursing note attached Administer scheduled and PRN medications Accurately complete a narcotic medication count Educate patients on medication protocols Ability to multi-task and delegate Knowledgeable and efficient with using EMR Implementing verbal physician orders and authenticating in writing, within a reasonable time, and include in the patient record Accurately reporting pertinent information during shift report Maintains a safe and sanitary environment. Apply infection control techniques and universal precautions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions from a wide variety of data and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Maintain up-to-date training in CPR, first aid, Crisis Intervention, Infection Control, Fire Safety, and other areas mandated by organizational policies.
