Triage
LPN 5362
Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34606 From $22 an hour - Full-time From $22 an hour - Full-time Job Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to: .
  • Responsible for quick and accurate triage response according to protocols developed with the clinic Medical Director.
  • administers prescribed medications and immunizations
  • provides urgent/emergent treatment and other patient services within the ambulatory care setting
  • maintains clinical documentation within the medical records assuring compliance with all guidelines
  • Conduct patient education and participates in health promotion activities
  • Provides nursing care in the ambulatory setting to patients and families
  • Provides urgent/emergent care as required
  • Participated in any quality management programs, high risk programs, group visits and other programs as requested
Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of Triage Nursing principles, theories and practices
  • Ability to take vital signs, perform approved clinical tasks including but not limited to: evaluating patient needs, emergency triage, administer prescribed medications, assist physician with examinations and treatments, prepare and apply dressings and perform wound care, instruct patient in health measures and self-care, change Foley catheters and flush ports (or willing to learn)
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and maintenance
  • Ability to provide on-site urgent/emergent treatment
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with patients, provider staff, vendors and patient families
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to perform case management
  • Spend majority of time performing triage functions
  • Ability to travel within the designated county of practice
  • Perform telephonic triages with follow-up
Education/Experience Certificates and Licenses:
Five years of acute care clinical experience preferred Possess a current and valid LPN Florida State license and CPR certification Computer literate LPN's IV certification or ability to obtain and perform within 90 days of hire
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to Hazardous chemicals, needles, angry patients, and rushed providers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
