Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to make a meaningful impact at an elementary school in the Buford, GA area. This contract position centers on providing dedicated care to two medically involved students, ensuring they have the support needed to thrive in a school environment. In this unique role, you'll become a valued member of a collaborative team—including classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and fellow nursing staff—to deliver compassionate, student-focused care.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver hands-on nursing care to two assigned elementary students during the school day Accompany students on the school bus to and from campus, providing safety and support during transit Monitor health conditions, implement physician-directed care plans, and respond promptly to medical needs or emergencies Maintain up-to-date, accurate documentation of all care and services provided Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and district personnel Collaborate with educators and other healthcare professionals to ensure student well-being and seamless educational access
Qualifications:
Active and unrestricted Georgia LPN license required Prior experience in pediatric, school-based, or special education settings is highly desirable Demonstrated competency supporting medically fragile or high-needs students Excellent communication and documentation skills Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary educational team Ability to provide three professional references, including a recent supervisor
Additional Preferred Experience:
