Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting two elementary students as a school nurse for the upcoming academic year. This contract role involves actively participating in the daily life of students with medical needs, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being while they receive their education. As part of a dedicated team—including educators, paraprofessionals, and an onsite nurse—you'll help create an inclusive, nurturing environment for student success. What you'll bring: Current, unencumbered Georgia LPN license Strong background in pediatric, school-based, or special education settings (preferred) Experience caring for medically fragile children is especially valued Collaborative spirit for seamless interaction with teachers, aides, families, and district staff Excellent communication and diligent record-keeping skills Comfort with riding the school bus to accompany students to and from school each day Ability to implement physician-directed care and respond swiftly to medical concerns Commitment to supporting student participation in all aspects of their school day Willingness to provide three references, including a recent supervisor Your responsibilities will include delivering direct nursing care, closely monitoring student health needs, supporting daily transportation, and maintaining meticulous documentation. You'll also coordinate with school personnel and parents to ensure the students' needs are met in the classroom and beyond. Familiarity with IEP processes and school-based health protocols is a plus.
