Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Bring your expertise as an LPN/LVN to a fulfilling opportunity where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of students! This contract role focuses on supporting two medically involved elementary school students by providing direct care throughout the academic day—both in the classroom and while accompanying them to and from school. You'll collaborate with a caring team of educators and support professionals, ensuring each student's well-being and their full access to educational programming.
Key Qualifications:
Possess an active Georgia LPN license. Experience in pediatric, school-based, or special education settings is preferred. Demonstrated ability to support medically fragile students, with skill in executing physician-ordered care plans. Exceptional communication and documentation abilities are essential. Adept at building positive relationships and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary educational environment. Candidates must provide three reference checks, with at least one from a recent supervisor, to move forward with the interview.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver personalized nursing care to assigned students during the school day and during transportation. Monitor health status, respond rapidly to medical needs or emergencies, and update care records consistently. Execute care plans as directed by medical professionals. Partner closely with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and district personnel to coordinate student support. Prioritize student safety while fostering participation in all aspects of school life.
Preferred Experience:
Background in school nursing or with students requiring specialized medical supports. Understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and school health care protocols.
