Job Description

Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and minimum 1+ years Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Seeking two dedicated and skilled nurses to provide individualized support for medically involved elementary students in a school setting. This contract opportunity begins with the 2026-2027 academic year and involves working closely with a collaborative classroom team to ensure each student receives exceptional care throughout the day, including during bus transportation.
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct nursing support to two assigned students, both in the classroom and during transportation Monitor students' ongoing health needs and administer care as outlined in individualized care plans Respond promptly to any medical concerns or emergencies Accurately document all services and health-related interactions according to school protocols Communicate proactively with parents, school staff, and district personnel to coordinate care Ensure student safety and enable full educational access in alignment with health guidelines
Qualifications:
Hold a current and active LPN licensure in Georgia Demonstrated experience in pediatric or school-based nursing strongly preferred Background in caring for medically fragile or special needs students highly desired Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a diverse education and healthcare team Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential Must be able to provide three references, including at least one from a recent supervisor
Preferred Background:
Previous experience as a school nurse or working with IEPs Hands-on experience supporting students requiring specialized medical interventions in an educational setting This position offers the chance to make a significant daily impact for students with complex medical needs.
