Job Description

Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and minimum 1+ years Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Licensed Practical Nurse specializing in school-based care, supporting students near Winder, GA. In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate closely with a classroom teacher, paraprofessionals, and an onsite nurse to provide individualized, compassionate care to two medically involved elementary students during the school day and while riding the bus to and from school.
Your day-to-day will involve:
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-on-one nursing care and monitor the health and well-being of two assigned students. Accompany and supervise students on school bus rides to ensure their safety and provide necessary medical support. Implement and follow physician-directed care plans, responding promptly to medical needs and emergencies. Maintain detailed clinical documentation and adhere to best practices in record-keeping. Work in partnership with teachers, support staff, parents, and district personnel to facilitate continuity of care and a safe learning environment. Advocate for each student's access to educational programs and services throughout the school day.
Qualified candidates will possess:
An active Georgia LPN license. Preferred background in pediatric, school-based, or special education nursing. Demonstrated experience supporting medically fragile or special needs students. Excellent communication abilities and meticulous documentation habits. A collaborative spirit, eager to integrate with a multidisciplinary educational team. Willingness to complete three reference checks, including one from a recent supervisor, to schedule an interview. Experience in school nursing, specialized student support, and familiarity with IEPs and school health services are highly valuable.
