Job Description
What You'll Do As a Clinic CMA/LPN/RN, you will provide compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting clinic operations and ensuring a smooth, efficient patient experience. Working under the supervision of the Clinic Nurse Manager, you will assist with clinical care, coordination, and follow-up while maintaining high standards of nursing practice. In this role, you will: Assess patients by evaluating physical, psychological, social, and environmental needs—both in person and over the phone. Collect and document patient information , including vitals, medications, allergies, and reason for visit accurately in the EMR. Prepare exam rooms and ensure all necessary supplies are ready for each patient visit. Administer medications and assist with treatments and procedures as directed by providers. Collect, label, and route lab specimens according to provider and lab protocols. Schedule appointments, tests, and referrals and manage follow-up communication with patients. Document results and follow-up care in the EMR, communicating outcomes per provider direction. Prioritize patient needs , responding appropriately in urgent or emergent situations. Provide patient education regarding conditions, treatments, and care plans, ensuring understanding. Answer and manage provider phone lines , including message taking, call routing, and patient follow-up. Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment , including disinfecting equipment and sterilizing instruments. Support clinic operations by completing general cleaning and maintenance tasks as scheduled. Perform other duties as needed to ensure high-quality patient care and clinic efficiency. Required Education Certification as a Medical Assistant or Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) program Required Licenses & Certifications Current Iowa LPN license or Medical Assistant certification BLS certification within six months of hire Valid driver's license Required Skills & Experience Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple patients Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Preferred Experience Previous experience working in a physician clinic setting Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
