Education and/or Experience LPN with state license required; Current license to practice nursing in the state. Experience in a clinical setting preferred. Position requirements, certificates, Licenses, registrations Basic Life Support certification. Ability to create a caring, compassionate relationship with the patients and families. Ability to collaborate with the healthcare team to use evidence-based practice in providing care. Must possess effective time management skills. Must possess a current, valid driver's license. Good driving record required. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, and understand procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, patients, families and the general public Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; talk and hear; and use hands to finger, handle or feel. Administer injections, medications, vaccines, and IVs as directed by providers and within the scope of licensure. Perform laboratory tests (including point-of-care phlebotomy, specimen collection, and diagnostic tests) as directed by providers and within the scope of licensure. Communicate test results, follow-up instructions, and address patient questions and concerns in a timely manner according to clinic policy. Clinical Support Assist providers with examinations and procedures. Prepare examination and procedure rooms with necessary sanitation procedures and supplies. Use clinical judgment to assess patients' health status in person or via phone, and recommend clinic and/or ER visit as appropriate. Collaborate with team members and other providers to ensure all patient-care and administrative duties are completed in a timely manner. Travel to other clinics to provide support as directed by clinic leadership. Administrative Answer patient phone calls and facilitate communication between patient and provider. Complete messages and tasks as assigned in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. Schedule follow-up appointments and procedures and submit referrals as directed by providers. Complete prior authorizations for procedures and medications as required. Assist with maintaining an inventory of supplies. General Duties Practices and behaves in a professional, safe and ethical manner at all times. Serves as a patient advocate. Maintains friendly and courteous interpersonal communication skills and a positive service attitude. Participates in performance improvement and educational activities. Completes all CEU's as required by respective licensure. If licensed, maintains an active and current license. Works willingly and accepts assignments as given. Attends all mandatory meetings and programs. Participates in opportunities that enhance personal and professional growth. Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
