Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting students as an LPN or RN for an Extended School Year (ESY) program located near Highland Park, IL. This contract opportunity is perfect for dedicated and compassionate nursing professionals who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in a school environment. You'll play a key part in fostering a safe and nurturing space where students can thrive throughout the ESY period.
Qualifications and Experience:
Hold an active LPN, LVN, or RN license in the state of Illinois Previous experience working in a school nursing setting is preferred Strong skills in assessment, triage, and care coordination Proficient in administering medications, responding to medical emergencies, and maintaining health records A calm and empathetic demeanor, especially when working with children and adolescents Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with educators, parents, and other professionals Current CPR/BLS certification
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and compassionate nursing care to students during the ESY program Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols Respond promptly and effectively to student health incidents, injuries, and emergencies Collaborate with school staff to support students with chronic health needs or disabilities Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school policies Offer health education and guidance to students, families, and staff as needed This position allows you to build relationships with students while helping to ensure their health and safety throughout the summer session.
