Job Description
Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal role supporting student health and well-being in a dynamic educational environment. This contract opportunity is available for the 2026/2027 school year and is ideal for Licensed Practical Nurses, Legal Nurse Consultants, Registered Nurses, or Certified School Nurses passionate about making a difference in the lives of students. Reporting directly to the Building Principal, you will work closely with educators and staff to ensure the safety, care, and educational support of children at the elementary or middle school level.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid licensure meeting requirements for LPN, RN, Legal Nurse, or CSN positions Possession of a Professional Educator License with School Nurse Endorsement (SN) and/or Registered Nurse credentials Demonstrated expertise in addressing the medical needs of children Prior experience in school settings preferred, especially at the elementary or middle school level Familiarity with the IEP process and a willingness to engage in play-based evaluation models Strong interpersonal and communication abilities Proven track record of collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and working independently as needed Ability to effectively multitask and adapt to changing school environments Understanding of the integral role schools play in community and economic development Commitment to furthering the mission of the school within its communityKey Responsibilities:
Address daily medical needs of students, including care planning, medication management, and emergency responses Collaborate with educators, families, and specialists to support students' medical and educational goals Participate in IEP meetings and implement recommended accommodations Maintain clear documentation and comply with school health protocols Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment for all students This position in Oak Lawn, IL, is your chance to play a vital role in student support and community development.
