Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Pediatric Private Duty Nurse, providing compassionate, specialized care to children with diverse medical needs in their home or community setting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young patients and their families. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will deliver personalized nursing care, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes for pediatric clients requiring ongoing medical support. Your expertise will help foster independence and improve quality of life for children with complex health conditions. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care tailored to pediatric patients, including medication administration, IV infusion, tube feeding, and catheter care Conduct thorough patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to evaluate health status and identify changes requiring intervention Manage airway management procedures, ventilator support, and emergency response protocols in accordance with best practices and safety standards Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate with families, physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans Perform specialized procedures including phlebotomy, injections, sterile processing, and specimen collection/processing as needed for pediatric patients Educate families on medication administration, disease management (including dementia or Alzheimer's care if applicable), and health coaching to promote ongoing wellness at home Experience Valid RN or LPN license with current state licensure required; prior pediatric nursing experience strongly preferred Demonstrated critical care experience in settings such as
ICU, PICU
(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or emergency room environments Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or chronic conditions like dementia or Alzheimer's disease is a plus Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; proficiency in
ICD-9/10
coding and medical documentation standards Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques necessary for safe patient care Previous home care or community-based nursing experience highly desirable; travel nursing experience is advantageous Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to pediatric and senior care; capable of performing patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations confidently Join us in delivering exceptional pediatric nursing care that transforms lives! Pay:
