Job Description

Full Time 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This position requires a 4-day workweek, Monday through Friday, with the day off to be determined. This position will work at Holton Family Medicine.
Job Summary:
Coordinates plan of care with physicians, nurses, and front office for continuity of care for patients. Counsels and educates patients on a variety of health care issues. Must be able to work well with office staff and outside management as well.
Essential Job Duties:
Assists with primary health care in collaboration with physicians by gathering and recording patient history, vitals, and other pertinent data to coordinate appropriate care. Administers injections, applies splints, dressings, etc., as ordered. Dispenses medication as directed by physicians. Performs various clinical/lab duties and performs other related duties as assigned. Screens and prioritize telephone calls for referral to physicians. Assists with clinic performance improvement activities and assists with orientation of new employees. Performs administrative duties such as communications with office staff regarding patient care, scheduling appointments, and referrals. Maintains timely flow of patients. Maintains patient confidentiality. Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary supplies. Participates in professional development activities, attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested, and contributes input for the development of departmental policies and procedures. Assumes responsibility and accountability for time management, professional relationships and interpersonal interactions. Maintains and enhances a current level of knowledge relative to professional practice, as well as continuing education requirements necessary for licensure and CPR certification. Requirements Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must have a current, valid license issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing (Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse). Or a compact license authorized to work in the state of Kansas. Must have current Basic Life support (BLS) certification.
