Job Description

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is looking for team members who will help advance our vision to be the premier hospital of choice for patients, physicians and employees. IMC is currently hiring a LPN - Surgical Unit , who is responsible for rendering safe nursing care to patients; supervising, directing, and monitoring the nursing care assigned to her/him; administering medications, performing venipuncture, assisting in the supervision and training of CNAs; and performs related duties, and using the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population.
EDUCATION/SKILLS
Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. Current license as a LPN in the state of Louisiana. Knowledge of the nursing process and nursing principles. Knowledge of anatomy
RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates respect for patients and families. Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care Applies the nursing process to each patient and implements nursing actions Identifies patient and family education needs and in collaboration with other disciplines initiates’ education needs according to the age of the patient. Participates in planning of patient’s discharge needs and readiness for discharge . Participates in departmental and hospital improvement plan Functions as a positive role model for peers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical Center Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational data Consistently lives by the Iberia Medical Center Standards of Performance Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals
