Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Endoscopy Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our specialized healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout their experience. Your expertise will support physicians and healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Responsibilities Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring all supplies are readily available. Monitor patient vital signs, oxygen levels, and overall condition before, during, and after procedures to detect any adverse reactions or complications promptly. Administer medications, including IV infusions and sedation under physician supervision, following strict protocols and safety guidelines. Collect specimens for laboratory testing, process samples accurately, and document all procedures thoroughly in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Educate patients about the procedure process, post-procedure care instructions, and answer questions to alleviate anxiety and promote understanding. Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques throughout all procedures. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes meticulously in medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Skills Proven experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and order entry. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to gastrointestinal and respiratory systems. Skilled in IV infusion techniques, venipuncture (venipuncture), catheter care, and medication administration including injections. Experience with patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, airway management, sedation support, and emergency response protocols. Familiarity with infection control practices, sterile processing techniques, and aseptic technique in a clinical setting. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments such as outpatient clinics or hospital settings including Level I Trauma Centers or hospitals with ICU experience. Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; compassionate approach tailored to diverse patient populations including those with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
