Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a school nurse with a summer contract assignment supporting students in an engaging educational setting near Boston, MA. This role is designed for caring, reliable nurses committed to promoting student well-being during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. With daytime, weekday hours and an energetic school atmosphere, this is an excellent fit for those with strong assessment skills and a passion for pediatric care.
Key Requirements:
Valid Massachusetts RN or LPN license required Prior school nursing experience highly preferred Familiarity with common school health protocols and the specific needs of K-12 students Proficient in medication administration, first aid, allergy/action plans, and responding to medical emergencies Ability to collaborate with teachers, aides, and administrative staff to create a safe school environment Strong communication and documentation skills
Expectations & Responsibilities:
Oversee daily healthcare needs of students attending the ESY program Administer prescribed medications and provide first aid as needed Maintain accurate medical records and communicate relevant information to appropriate school staff and families Monitor and support students with chronic conditions and coordinate emergency care if necessary Serve as a resource for health information and wellness education within the school community Ensure adherence to all required state and school health policies This contract role runs from July 1, 2026 through August 6, 2026, with hours from 9:00 am to 2:45 pm, Monday through Thursday—offering an ideal summer schedule.
