Milton Pediatrics, established in 1967, is a well-established busy pediatric primary practice with offices in Braintree and Boston. We believe that a child's health is paramount, and we strive to deliver timely and compassionate support that makes a difference in their lives. As a Pediatric Triage Nurse, you will play a vital role in our mission by ensuring that children receive the appropriate level of care when they need it the most. We are looking for a passionate and skilled nurse who embraces a family-oriented approach to patient care, fostering a supportive environment for both colleagues and patients and their families. Schedule (clinical staff is considered full-time at 32 hours w/ full benefits) Monday through Friday (32 hours) with a Rotating weekend schedule (Typically every 4 weeks) Responsibilities include: Respond promptly to each incoming call and assist patients/families by providing standardized care. Listens, communicates, and documents simultaneously and navigates computer programs to assess, process, educate and document all information in a professional manner. Conduct a thorough clinical assessment of symptoms and confidently determine the appropriate level of care required to safely meet the patient's medical need. Demonstrates sound judgment, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Utilizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills to recognize and match symptoms to protocol, assigning acuity (emergent, urgent, acute, and non-acute) Accesses patient information via EMR. Documents encounter and decision making in EMR in a concise and accurate manner, utilizing the patient's own words as appropriate. Answers and addresses clinical questions sent by patients via the patient portal. Schedules routine and acute appointments for patients based on their needs. Offers home treatment advice as appropriate. Follow standard procedures and protocols related to the triage service, Utilizing Schmitt - Thompson Telephone Protocols. Strong interview and communication skills; including good written and nonverbal communication. Consults and coordinates with health care team members. Participate in team meetings and continuous quality improvement.
