Role:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality nursing care within an assisted living facility or similar healthcare setting. This position focuses on providing direct patient care, including wound management, pain control, and performing venipuncture, ensuring patients' comfort and safety. The LPN will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about health conditions and care plans, promoting better health outcomes. Working collaboratively with Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare professionals, the LPN supports comprehensive care delivery tailored to individual patient needs. Ultimately, this role ensures that patients receive compassionate, competent, and timely nursing care in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid and current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the United States. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare team members. Demonstrated experience in patient care within a clinical or assisted living environment. Ability to perform venipuncture and basic nursing procedures safely and competently. Knowledge of wound care techniques and pain management principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an assisted living facility or long-term care setting. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems. Additional certifications related to wound care or pain management. Previous collaboration experience with Nurse Practitioners or interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Continuing education or training in patient education methodologies.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to patients, including wound care management and pain assessment. Perform venipuncture and other clinical procedures as required under supervision or protocol. Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, medication administration, and post-care instructions. Monitor patient conditions, document observations accurately, and report changes to supervising Nurse Practitioners or physicians. Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment within the assisted living facility, adhering to infection control protocols.

Proficiency in performing venipuncture allows the LPN to assist with diagnostic procedures and treatment plans efficiently.
