Contract Licensed Practical Nurse opportunity in Kennebunk, ME. Start ASAP for a 13-week assignment; shift 3:00 PM-11:30 PM.Local rate:
$1,047 per 37-hour week.Required:
Active LPN license for the state of Maine BLS certificationOverview:
Provide direct bedside nursing under RN or physician direction, delivering safe, evidence-based care and clear documentation while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.Key responsibilities:
Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV medication/fluids; monitor IV sites and ensure proper line function.Perform wound care:
assess, clean, dress, and monitor for signs of infection or complications. Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient status; maintain accurate nursing documentation. Manage urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, complication surveillance) and collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for testing. Provide patient and family education on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.Support patient comfort and safety:
positioning, mobility assistance, pain management, and advocacy for patient needs. Participate in emergency response and provide basic life support per protocol. Follow infection control standards and safe medication/supply handling and disposal. Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned and support unit operations.
