2 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN with at least 2 years of experience for a post-acute long-term care (LTC) and skilled nursing (SNF) assignment in Maine, working day shifts in a multi-unit facility serving LTC and transitional rehabilitation patients. Details Post-acute long-term care and skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting Three distinct units available: a 31-bed Alzheimer's/dementia specialized unit (3 East), a 42-bed Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (TRU) providing short-term skilled nursing and rehab services, and a 42-bed long-term care unit (3 West) Patient population includes long-term care residents requiring home-like placement, as well as short-term rehab patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other illnesses or injuries Nursing services may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Flexibility to float to other units as needed Coverage required across 24 hours/day, 7 days per week Requirements Valid Maine or compact LPN license required at start of assignment; license required if applicable Minimum 2 years of LPN or RN experience required Associates in Nursing or graduate of a Maine State Board-approved LPN program Current
BLS/BCLS
certification required Strong teamwork and communication skills required Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team Flexibility to float between units and provide coverage across varied schedules Additional Information Partners with residents and other care providers to create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment through direct and indirect patient care Care on the Alzheimer's/dementia unit involves use of both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and an understanding of difficult behaviors as valid forms of communication Medical terminology knowledge preferred Previous employees of this facility are not eligible for this position Local candidates are welcome to apply but will receive a reduced local pay rate Candidates with licensure issues will not be considered for this position 13-week assignment
