YOUR DAY AS A MISSION NURSE
As a Part Time Mission Nurse (RN or LPN) at Mel Trotter Ministries, your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around delivering compassionate care to individuals in need. You will assess patients' health status, provide medical treatment, and develop care plans that align with each client's unique situation. ARE YOU A GOOD FIT FOR THIS MISSION NURSE ROLE?
To thrive as a Full Time Mission Nurse (RN or LPN) at Mel Trotter Ministries, you will need a diverse skill set that blends clinical expertise with empathetic communication. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing in the State of Michigan Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, with a focus on community health, public health, or working with marginalized populations Strong understanding of mental health and substance use issues, particularly in vulnerable populations Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a shelter-wide multidisciplinary team Compassionate, non-judgmental, and respectful approach to patient care Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills Proficiency with medical documentation and electronic health records (EMR)
