Registered Nurse - Full-time -
Royal Oak, MichiganPosition Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Nurse to join our team full-time. This role combines traditional clinical nursing responsibilities with surgical coordination duties, including scheduling and boarding surgical cases, as well as managing post-operative patient care. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, including obtaining necessary documentation and authorizations Board surgical cases with hospitals and surgical centers Communicate with patients regarding pre-operative and post-operative instructions Provide comprehensive post-operative care, including follow-ups and patient education Perform standard clinical nursing duties such as rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting providers, and documenting in EMR Administer medications and treatments as directed by providers Maintain accurate and timely patient records Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care Address patient concerns and triage clinical questions appropriately Follow practice policy as it relates to safety, health and HIPAA practices. Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to care for the patient while reporting any changes to physicians in patient's condition following up with proper documentation. Distribute prescribed medications to assigned patients orally, topically, subcutaneously, intradermal and intramuscularly under direct supervision of the physician. Must be able to communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills. Must be knowledgeable of all medical equipment utilized in the care of the patient. Three to five years of experience as a Registered Nurse or LPN is preferred in clinical practice. Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in Nursing is required from an accredited College of Nursing. Neurosurgery clinic experience preferred.
