Job Title:
Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse (MA/LPN) Job Description This role provides direct clinical support in ENT clinic settings by rooming patients, assisting providers with examinations and treatments, and ensuring exam rooms and equipment are clean, organized, and ready for use. The MA/LPN supports efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience while working closely with a multidisciplinary care team. Responsibilities Room up to approximately 25 patients per day, ensuring each patient is prepared for their visit and feels informed and comfortable. Assist providers during examinations and procedures in the ENT clinic, following established clinical protocols. Prepare, organize, and maintain examination and treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for patient care. Clean and maintain clinical equipment according to infection control and safety standards. Perform charting and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system accurately and in a timely manner. Support patient flow by coordinating patient movement to and from exam rooms and communicating effectively with providers and other staff. Possibly answer phones and assist with basic front-office tasks as needed to support clinic operations. Use strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple patients, tasks, and priorities throughout the day. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, providers, and team members to support a positive clinic environment. Follow all clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines related to scope of practice for Medical Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses. Essential Skills Experience with rooming patients in a clinical setting. Proficiency in charting and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Hands-on medical assisting experience in an outpatient or clinic environment. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credentials with completion of a state-approved LPN program, if applying as an LPN. Current licensure in good standing with the Board of Nursing, if applying as an LPN. Medical Assistant Diploma from a Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, if applying as a Medical Assistant. Ability to meet the requirement for a Medical Assistant diploma to transition to a permanent role with the organization. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use clinical software systems. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and patient needs simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and clinical staff. Additional Skills & Qualifications Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES; clinical-only Medical Assistant programs are not considered equivalent. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with up-to-date licensure from a state-approved program is an alternative qualification to a Medical Assistant diploma. Willingness to obtain or maintain BLS certification as required. Interest in ENT or specialty clinic care and willingness to learn related procedures and workflows. Ability to adapt to different clinic locations and teams while maintaining consistent quality of care. Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and contributing to a collaborative team culture. Work Environment This position is based in ENT clinic settings with primary scheduling at a clinic in St. Louis Park and additional shifts at either Maple Grove or Burnsville, depending on preference. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, generally from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role involves working in exam and treatment rooms, using electronic health record systems, standard clinical equipment, and computers throughout the day. The environment is fast-paced, with a steady flow of patients and frequent collaboration with providers and other clinical staff. Travel between clinic sites may be required as part of the regular schedule. Professional clinical attire appropriate for an outpatient healthcare setting is expected. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis Park, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr.
