Hourly Position Summary The Floor Nurse (RN/LPN) is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents in accordance with physician orders, care plans, state and federal regulations, and facility policies. The nurse supervises CNAs, administers medications and treatments, monitors resident conditions, and ensures quality, safe, and compassionate care. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesResident Care Provide direct nursing care to residents according to individualized care plans Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns Perform assessments (RN full assessments; LPN focused/ongoing assessments as allowed by state law) Provide wound care, catheter care, tube feedings, and other skilled nursing tasks Respond to emergencies, falls, and changes in condition Documentation & Compliance Accurately document medications, treatments, assessments, and resident status Complete incident reports, change-in-condition notes, and required documentation Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations (CMS, DHS, etc.) Follow infection control and safety protocols Communication Communicate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, families, and interdisciplinary team members Notify physicians and families of significant changes in condition Participate in care conferences as needed Provide resident and family education when appropriate
