Job Description

Overview:
We are looking for a qualified CMA or LPN to join our team. Clinical staff provide high-quality patient care in a clinic setting, collaborating closely with dermatologists, physician assistants, and other clinical staff. This role supports our clinic's vision by embodying our core values and encompasses responsibilities in patient care, operational support, and clinic environment.
Hours:
Full-time Clinical Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team members to facilitate optimal patient care and smooth clinic operations. Assist providers during patient encounters, procedures, and services, including MOHS tissue mapping, excisions, wound care, and dressing changes. Accurately document patient encounters, procedures, and care plans as directed by medical providers, and assist with sample collection, labeling, and processing. Exhibit compassion, empathy, and active listening throughout all patient interactions, providing post-care education as directed by the medical providers.
Patient Care Responsibilities:
Review patient records prior to appointments to anticipate care needs, and ensure exam rooms are properly prepped, stocked, and ready to minimize wait times. Manage in-basket items including patient results, messages, medication refills, and communications; triage and coordinate follow-up actions as necessary. Handle prior authorization processes for medications, ensuring prompt communication with insurers, pharmacies, and patients, including management of the iPledge Accutane Registry. Maintain appropriate medical supply levels, adhere to biohazard waste protocols, and assist with additional clinic-related tasks as needed.
Team & Operational Responsibilities:
Engage in ongoing education, staff meetings, and in-services to maintain clinical skills and stay current with practices, policies, and protocols; mentor new staff and contribute to a collaborative, growth-focused team culture. Ensure room stocking is complete, inventory requests are directed appropriately, and clinic flow issues such as system errors or patient dissatisfaction are identified and escalated to management. Support
CLIA/OSHA
compliance, assist with recertifications, complete and log all regulatory compliance tasks, and ensure inspections are met. Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in all interactions, adhering to clinical and licensure standards, HIPAA, infection control requirements, and maintaining confidentiality at all times. Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of practice management. .
Educations/Certifications:
Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing or Medical Assistant Program. Must have and maintain a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/AAMA) certification.
Experience/Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across a diverse team and work independently or under the guidance of leadership and providers. Proficiency in computer systems and EHR software; ability to multitask accurately, prioritize tasks, and stay focused in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a proactive approach to daily work preparation. Experience in MOHS surgery and/or histotechnology preferred. Commitment to completing annual competencies to support safe patient care
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, sit, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods, with the fine motor skills and physical capability required in a clinical setting. Ability to lift, carry, and manage medical supplies and equipment as needed.
