Job Description

Medical Assistant/LPN Dermatology Ridgeview Medical Center United States, Minnesota, Waconia May 05, 2026 Purpose of Job This casual position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities to assist providers and nursing personnel in a specialty clinic. Facilitates patient/physician/provider communication and coordination of care. Job Functions Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and documents in EMR.
Supports physicians in documentation of patient's visit by entering physician's dictation into the EMR system during the patient's visit.
Administers prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certification/licensure.
Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients.
Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at the end of day.
Performs specialty procedures/tests as directed by the Physician
Helps maintain stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments/exam room.
Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary.
Provides patient education.
Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability effectively handle high-stress fast paced environment
Ability to multi-task
Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
Ability to work autonomously and as a team
Capable of making independent decision with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills Minimum Education/Work Experience Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical Nursing License/Certifications Current LPN Licensure (new graduates will have 1 year to become certified/licensed in order to maintain employment)
