Job Description
The Licensed Practical Nurse performs a wide variety of nursing duties and accommodative services for patients in accordance with established protocols and specific instructions from professional nurses and providers. Lead daily team huddle to review next day's patients and needs. Perform patient assessments and update past medical history, and allergies. Obtain vital signs, weight, height and screens. Enter chief complaints into the EHR. Draw labs in absence of lab technician. Report critical labs. Educate patient (medications and disease process). Administer medications. Refer to inside specialties. Provide information for referrals to outside specialties. Take calls concerning patient care and prescription refills. Institute basic CPR measures in the event of a cardiac arrest or emergency triage Document thoroughly and clearly in-patient records. Teach patients and other care workers general health education relating to treatment regimen. Participate in EPSDT Screening. Maintain confidentiality in reference to clinical information. Maintain a clean and orderly working environment. Perform all other related tasks as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor or provider.
