Job Description

Job Summary Gulfport Care Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. The LPN is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents, administering medications and treatments, monitoring resident conditions, and supervising Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in accordance with federal, state, and facility regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to providing quality resident-centered care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Monitor, assess, and document resident conditions and report significant changes to the physician and Director of Nursing. Perform resident assessments, obtain vital signs, and provide nursing interventions as needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Receive and transcribe physician orders. Supervise and direct CNA staff to ensure quality resident care. Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings. Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges. Respond appropriately to emergencies and resident incidents. Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and resident rights regulations. Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members. Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Qualifications Current Mississippi Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing. Current CPR certification. Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred. Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of state and federal nursing home regulations preferred. $26.00 - $27.00 per hour
