Job Description

Job Summary:
The LPN is managed by the Patient Care Manager. Daily, this employee performs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse in the administration of medications and is delegated an assignment by him/her to achieve quality patient care. The LPN shall assist the RN in the implementation of the nursing process by providing direct patient care as evidenced, but not limited to, patient care documentation in the EMR, direct observation, patient evaluations, and all other duties that are assigned. This employee should demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Daily job duties will be guided by the knowledge of the principles of growth and development and the LPN must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify and provide the care needed. This employee will also be responsible for all other assigned duties and tasks; on an as-needed basis.
Performance Expectations:
Demonstrates thorough, concise and timely documentation, shift reports, and verbal communication. Communicates pertinent patient information to all healthcare team members. Maintains own clinical skills staying current in nursing skills, ongoing competencies, and all assigned trainings/certifications. Communicates effectively with others in an appropriate and timely manner. Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e. customer service, safety, and compliance standards. Maintains own clinical skills staying current in skills, ongoing competencies, equipment and certifications required in specific nursing area, including EKG rhythm.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills Graduate of a recognized non-online LPN program required.
Work Experience:
Work experience preferred but not required Certification/Licensure-DUE
UPON HIRE
Licensed LPN able to practice within the State of MS Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below Basic Life Support Within 30 Days of Employment Required Handle with Care Within 30 Days of Employment Required Restraint and Seclusion Training Within 30
Days of Employment Required Mental Demands:
Ability to perform as a team member, cooperate with others, follow directions precisely, demonstrate initiative, set priorities, and function under stress
