Job Description

Overview We are seeking a companionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our multidisciplinary team in a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. The LPN plays a vital role in supporting clients through detoxification, recovery, and crisis stabilization by providing nursing care, medication administration, health evaluations, monitoring withdrawal symptoms, and patient education. The ideal candidate is organized, empathetic, and committed to helping individuals achieve long-term recovery. Duties Obtain and document vital signs, weights, and health assessments. Monitor clients for signs and symptoms of alcohol and substance withdrawal. Complete and document withdrawal evaluations using CIWA and COWS protocols. Assist with detoxification monitoring Administer prescribed medications, including controlled substances, according to physician orders and facility policies. Maintain accurate medication records and narcotic counts. Process medication orders and communicate with pharmacies as needed. Documentation Complete timely and accurate nursing notes and evaluations. Document withdrawal scores, medication administration, client progress, and interventions. Maintain compliance with state regulations, accreditation standards, and facility policies. Patient Support and Education Provide health education regarding substance use disorders, recovery, medication compliance, HIV/STD prevention, and wellness. Assist clients in understanding treatment goals and recovery plans. Participate in group education sessions when appropriate. Support clients experiencing emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric concerns. Admissions and Coordination of Care Assist with client admissions and intake assessments. Collaborate with physicians, counselors, case managers, and other healthcare professionals. Coordinate care for clients with medical and mental health needs. Experience Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing. CPR/BLS certification required. Experience in detoxification, behavioral health, addiction medicine, mental health, or residential treatment preferred. Knowledge of CIWA, COWS, medication administration, and withdrawal management preferred. Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
