Job Title:
LPN LTC Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) specializing in Long Term Care to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, with expertise in managing the unique needs of residents in long-term and assisted living settings. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality nursing services, support patient well-being, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes. The LPN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care, assisting with medical procedures, and maintaining accurate documentation within a dynamic healthcare environment.

LPN LTC:
Genie Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced LPN LTC to fill an opening place located in Lincoln, NE for $44.16/hr. (Tax+ non-taxed)
Requirements of LPN LTC:
  • Must have AHA BLS certification
  • Must have a valid NE LPN License or Compact license.

Responsibilities of LPN LTC:
Shift:
12- hours Nights Shift details: 6.00 PM to 6.00 AM 3
  • 12 hours/week.
(36 hrs.) 14-week contract Provide direct patient care to residents, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring, ensuring adherence to established protocols. Assist with complex medical procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, and sterile dressing changes while maintaining aseptic technique. Conduct patient assessments, document findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient status. Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility assistance, feeding, and personal hygiene, respecting individual dignity and preferences. Monitor for signs of acute pain or changes in condition, triaging appropriately and escalating concerns to physicians or advanced practice providers as needed. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of all patient information. Participate in discharge planning, family education, and coordination of post-acute or hospice care when necessary. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that address residents' medical and psychosocial needs. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification to practice in long-term care settings. Prior experience working in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or long-term care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and patient record management. Knowledge of
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding for medical documentation and billing purposes. Experience with IV infusion therapy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) certification required. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's disease management, memory care practices, and behavioral health considerations. Strong assessment skills combined with physiology knowledge to evaluate patient conditions effectively. Ability to work efficiently within a team while demonstrating compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail.
