Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a meaningful impact supporting a student in a dynamic school environment as an onsite Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This opportunity involves providing 1:1 care for a student managing Type 1 diabetes, utilizing advanced health technologies and attentive support for optimal day-to-day wellness.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid and active LPN or LVN license in New Jersey Prior experience supporting pediatric or school-aged students, especially with chronic health needs Familiarity with diabetes management technologies, such as Dexcom CGM and Omnipod insulin pump, highly preferred Strong ability to recognize patterns, interpret data, and respond quickly to physical symptoms Skilled in performing manual blood glucose checks when CGM readings and symptoms do not align Proficient in technology, able to interpret smartphone/remote-monitoring data Excellent communication and documentation skills
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver vigilant, compassionate 1:1 care throughout the school day, ensuring safety and responding swiftly to changing glucose readings and student needs Operate and maintain diabetes management devices, including troubleshooting and executing backup procedures when necessary Document daily care, health observations, and interventions Collaborate with educators, parents, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic support Follow established protocols while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all student interactions Prepare and respond proactively in case of hypo
- or hyperglycemic events This contract position offers a consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule during the academic year, supporting one student in a nurturing, close-knit community.
