Job Description
Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse - CSS Middlesex for the University Behavioral Healthcare. The primary purpose of the LPN position is to provide medical-focused support services, including wellness education and support, to individuals with mental health and substance use disorder diagnoses, in their homes and other community-based settings in accordance with all relevant program requirements. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Participates in data collection related to the individuals' status and needs. Promotes health and safety through the provision of education about medication, Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT), HIV/STD, physical health promotion, and other medical topics to promote wellness and recovery. Completes all documentation within prescribed timeframe. Effectively contributes to and supports an environment that enhances the positive self- image of individuals served and preserves their human dignity. Completes Annual Employee Health Update (to include PPD). Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.Minimum Education and Experience:

NJ Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Provide 24/7 on-call coverage as assigned. Work schedule may include off business hours shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and document into an electronic medical record while in the field. The employee spends much time driving, walking, standing, bending and talking with individuals served in the community located throughout the region. Transport of individuals served in state vehicles. The employee can expect to lift up to 20 pounds. The work environment is predominantly in the community in individuals' homes, shelters, soup kitchens and places where homeless individuals congregate (i.e. forests, train stations, under bridges etc.). Individual wellness checks and crisis intervention required. Subject to unpredictable situations, crises, to include behavioral, medical, substance use and psychiatric. Occasionally exposed to individuals exhibiting assaultive behaviors. Exposure to blood borne pathogens that requires use of personal protective equipment.Special Conditions:
