UBHC's 1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education. UBHC , one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country, has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Licensed Practical Nurse for the Acute Services at Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare. Provides technical nursing care to child through adult populations. Performs treatments and procedures within established guidelines. Provides a safe and comfortable environment for patients. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Takes vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure on all patients and documents immediately in the EMR . Administers medications and parenteral therapy in accordance with established UBHC guidelines. Performs venipuncture as required. Collects and processes laboratory specimens. Follows National Patient Safety Goals in proper identification of patient before collecting specimens. Certifications/Licenses Possession of a valid and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Demonstrated strong clinical nursing specialty, excellent communication skills, must be PC literate with proficiency in word processing and leadership abilities required.

Work Environment:
