AM Pay:
Local - $1,019 / 36 hours Required credentials Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the state of New Mexico BLS certification Core responsibilities Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician guidance: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, ADL support. Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and implement individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments accurately per orders and protocols. Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
Maintain accurate patient records:
treatments given, medication administration, condition updates. Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures. Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids; ensure IV line integrity. Manage urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, monitoring) and monitor for complications. Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing. Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care. Address patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management needs. Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol. Follow infection control practices and correct use of PPE. Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations. Advocate for patients' rights and needs. Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned. Maintain competence through continuing education and training. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
