We're seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse to join a Gallup, NM team on a 9-week contract (non-travel). This position starts ASAP, follows a 07:00 AM-07:30 PM shift, and pays $1,138 for 36 hours locally. What we're looking for: Active, valid LPN state license Current BLS certification What you'll be doing: You'll provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians—think medication administration, wound care, IV and catheter management, and frequent vital-sign checks. You'll perform patient assessments (medical history, physical checks, medication reviews) and help develop and carry out individualized care plans.
Accurate documentation is essential:
you'll record condition changes, treatments, and medications thoroughly.
Other day-to-day responsibilities include:
Administering medications and treatments precisely and following protocols Evaluating, cleaning, dressing, and monitoring wounds for complications Inserting, monitoring, and troubleshooting IV lines and administering IV meds/fluids Caring for urinary catheters and watching for issues Collecting samples (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing Educating patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care Helping with positioning, mobility, comfort, and pain management Responding to emergencies and providing basic life support as needed Following infection control practices and proper PPE use Safely handling, storing, and disposing of medications and supplies Promoting preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and advocating for patient needs Collaborating with the healthcare team—RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff Occasionally supervising CNAs or other assistive personnel, when required Participating in ongoing education to stay current with best practices You may also be asked to perform other duties assigned by management.
