Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on a travel basis, offering flexible opportunities to deliver exceptional patient care across diverse settings. In this role, you will provide vital nursing services, support patient assessments, and assist with medical procedures in various healthcare environments. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and physical examinations, ensuring accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications and injections safely, including IV infusions and catheter care, following strict aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations. Assist with complex procedures like airway management, tube feeding, venipuncture, and sterile processing tasks such as suturing or spinal taps. Support patient care activities across various specialties including critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and post-acute care environments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized discharge planning, case management strategies, and health coaching initiatives. Conduct patient education on medication administration, dementia or Alzheimer's care, pain management, and infection control practices. Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and specimen collection/processing. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the applicable state or jurisdiction. Proven experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and CPT coding for accurate documentation and billing. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, Epic, or Athenahealth; proficiency in medical imaging or laboratory experience is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments involving vital signs, intake/output monitoring, and diagnostic evaluation. Competency in handling specialized procedures like IV insertion/infusion therapy, catheterization, ventilator management, and sterile techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; experience in geriatrics or pediatric care is desirable.
