Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Medical Surgical Unit (5800)

13 Weeks Job Summary "Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced LPN for a high-acuity Medical Surgical unit handling complex medicine, ortho overflow, and long-term care patients in a tertiary care teaching hospital. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care under RN supervision in Med/Surg unit Manage assigned patients independently within LPN scope Monitor telemetry and respond to cardiac changes Assist in blood product administration and transfusion support Provide central line, PICC, and peripheral IV care/maintenance Perform phlebotomy and assist with IV therapy initiation/maintenance Manage oxygen therapy (NC, HFNC, tanks) and tracheostomy care Provide feeding tube care and management Assist in wound care and wound vac management Support post-op orthopedic and trauma patients (joint replacements, surgical drains) Assist in pacemaker (temporary/permanent) patient care monitoring Respond to rapid response and code situations Follow strict isolation and infection control protocols Document all care in EPIC system Collaborate with RN and interdisciplinary care teams Required Qualifications Active New York State LPN License (mandatory) BLS Certification required Minimum recent acute care experience (within 2 years) Strong Med/Surg experience required Ability to manage complex patient assignments under RN supervision EPIC charting experience required Strong clinical judgment and communication skills Ability to work in fast-paced acute care environment For more details reach at sthakur@navitashealth.com
