Job Description
Position responsibilities include but not limited to: Assist Physician, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant with procedures Administer injections Perform phlebotomy May collect specimens, perform basic laboratory tests and chart results Provides patient education verbally and by providing written materials May schedule tests or procedures ordered by the provider Calls patients about test or procedure results; returns patients calls with answers after consulting with provider Prepares exam room for procedures , marks specimens for lab and pathology Cleans exam room after each patient and stocks exam and procedure rooms with supplies May perform lab controls daily and check and record temperatures on lab refrigerators and freezers Qualifications Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification Proficient in patient care and assessment Knowledge of EMR and EHR systems Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Familiarity with HIPAA regulations Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
